Magic-Pak PTAC Replacement | Agincourt

Agincourt Low-Rise Magic-Pak Two-Floor Replacement

A documented project record from Condo HVAC Repair Toronto. An Agincourt low-rise had original 1990s gas Magic-Pak units on two floors, with compressor failures and one Enbridge Red Tag in the previous winter. The facilities director wanted both floors done at once at bulk pricing.

The Challenge

The units were original to the building and parts were getting hard to source. One unit had been Red Tagged by Enbridge for a heat exchanger issue, leaving the suite without heat until a replacement was arranged.

Residents needed heat back the same evening, so each suite had to be removed, set, vented, gas-tested and signed off in a single working day.

Results

  • 16 units replaced in 8 working days at bulk 10+ pricing.
  • Every suite had heat back by evening on its install day.
  • Red Tag cleared with code-compliant replacement and paperwork.
  • Old units removed and disposed of by the crew.

How We Ran It

  1. 1

    Site survey and louver check

David Okonkwo measured every closet opening and louver. The MGE series fit the existing openings, and new louvers were ordered to match the wall sleeve depth.

  2. 2

    Two suites per day

A crew of three removed the old unit, set the new one, connected gas, venting and condensate, then started and tested it. The gas technician completed sign-off before leaving each suite.

  3. 3

    Red Tag closed out

The tagged suite was scheduled first so the documentation could be filed and the tag cleared with the new equipment in place.
